04.25.09  |  Weddings

The sun peeked through the clouds, the wind gave a small little huff every now and then and the air stayed at an oooh so perfect temperature. We pulled up to The Radisson to see the hustle and bustle of people outside but inside Kristin's hotel room was a blissful calm. As she slipped into her dress and her brides maids oooohed and ahhhhed she was in the best place in the world.
It was my immense pleasure to capture Kristin & Keith’s wedding day. I met them back in November and have been looking forward to their big day since. They said it would be fun but it was a blast. Every single one of the guests that I spoke to made me feel like a friend and you could see how blessed they were to be surrounded with such wonderful friends and family on their unforgettable day.

Keith looks a little stunned, I would have to say!!

The awesome~ness of having two shooters!!

The new couple!!

We had a little extra time, so I got the chance to take a picture of Kristin with each of her brides maid's.

First dance :)

Kristin's brother was the Maid of Honor... his speech was an amazing song that he sang and played on his guitar. There wasn't a dry eye at The Pinehills.

So I had to post this picture for obvious reasons. It makes me laugh out loud everytime I look at it!!

Kristin & Keith,
Thank you, thank you, thank you for allowing me to capture your big day!! The two of you are amazing people but together you are unbelievable. Good luck in everything that you do!!
Much love,
K!

Take a peek at their slide show!!

04.11.09  |  Portraits

As I pulled down my road I saw the cars of all shapes and sizes lining the street. When I walked in the house I was greeted by a half dozen of Jocelyn's friends, giggling, whispering and admiring. Earlier that afternoon Jocelyn had launched a photoshoot for her friends and they were looking like they were in love as they browsed the back of her camera.

Here are some of her faves from the soggy day. But can you tell?? No waaaaaay! She got some amazing shots (I'm gonna go ahead and slip in here that yes, I am jealous) and all of her friends were so willing to help.

04.08.09  |  Personal

As most of you know, my wing (girl) is my sister. She's who I look at and am so blessed to be a part of, an influence of, an influence by, my teammate and my best friend. She helped me jump into my career by sticking by my side, offering any kind of help she could, a shoulder to lean on, being my cheerleader, driving buddy, photog buddy and so much more. In these past years we have become so close and I am sooooo grateful to have that.
These past few months have been craaaazy. Jocelyn had been applying to colleges left and right and we all crossed our fingers and toes for her.
Now realizing, she wanted and appreciated but never actually needed any of our hoping.
She's smart. Sooooo smart. Jocelyn is the kind of smart that makes me want to hide behind my big lens and thank God that he gave me 'A Good Eye."
When we browse through our collection of pictures after a long wedding day and she says, Oooooh! Good one Kristen!!I feel like a little kid again, even thought this time it's my little sister who is giving me a pat on the head.
All of her hard work, determination and I'm going to go ahead and bank on the fact that her smile got her somewhere (thanks for the 3 years of braces, Dad!) had finally paid off.
We jumped up and down in the living room together and as her smile spread I saw her wings spreading too. My little sister had grown into a beautiful young woman and I am proud to say I saw it coming, we all did.

As I spread out her long list if acceptance letters onto the kitchen table I was soooo excited to brag. I hope she remembers where she came from and if I EVER see a Yankees hat on her head..... let's just say I'll be sure to take back all of my pieces of clothing that had 'mistakenly' made its way to her closet.

Jocelyn will be *sniff* leaving me this fall to go to Bridgewater College and from there will be living out her dream by transferring to New York University Hollllaaaaaa! in a few years.

I love you Jocelyn, we all do, and I can't wait to see the amazing things that you have left to accomplish.
<3 Kristen Dawn (Gaga)
