Happy Father's Day!!
06.21.09
|

"Is this enough onions??"
"Yea, that's good. Can you chop the rest of those apples??"
"Geez it's a good thing you know how to cook Jocie!! My breakfast would be a joke."
Yup. My little sister was delegating the cooking orders and I put on my best game face to look like I knew what I was doing. With sticky banana in between my fingers I tip-toed to the sink to try to get out of my domesticated sister's way. I'll stick to the cleaning.
Anyway, breakfast with Dad was great. He was thrilled and later on we'll be off to the movies and a late dinner but for now I can hear the game on in the other room, which is exactly where I should be!!
Dad, I know you know but I feel like I can't tell you enough. We love you and appreciate every smile you give us!! Get ready for a fabulous day!! |

Life is sweet

Tonight was perfect. All of the elements that came together were more than I could have asked for and it was exactly how I wanted to spend my birthday.
Lounging in my jammies with no make-up was like heaven, having dinner on our awesomely new renovated back-deck was like a vacation and being surrounded by all of my favorite people was nothing short of a blessing. Life has been so good lately and if this is just a sneek peek of what our summer will be like, I'm psyched!!

Jocelyn Arielle

As most of you know, my wing (girl) is my sister. She's who I look at and am so blessed to be a part of, an influence of, an influence by, my teammate and my best friend. She helped me jump into my career by sticking by my side, offering any kind of help she could, a shoulder to lean on, being my cheerleader, driving buddy, photog buddy and so much more. In these past years we have become so close and I am sooooo grateful to have that.
These past few months have been craaaazy. Jocelyn had been applying to colleges left and right and we all crossed our fingers and toes for her.
Now realizing, she wanted and appreciated but never actually needed any of our hoping.
She's smart. Sooooo smart. Jocelyn is the kind of smart that makes me want to hide behind my big lens and thank God that he gave me 'A Good Eye."
When we browse through our collection of pictures after a long wedding day and she says, Oooooh! Good one Kristen!!I feel like a little kid again, even thought this time it's my little sister who is giving me a pat on the head.
All of her hard work, determination and I'm going to go ahead and bank on the fact that her smile got her somewhere (thanks for the 3 years of braces, Dad!) had finally paid off.
We jumped up and down in the living room together and as her smile spread I saw her wings spreading too. My little sister had grown into a beautiful young woman and I am proud to say I saw it coming, we all did.
As I spread out her long list if acceptance letters onto the kitchen table I was soooo excited to brag. I hope she remembers where she came from and if I EVER see a Yankees hat on her head..... let's just say I'll be sure to take back all of my pieces of clothing that had 'mistakenly' made its way to her closet.

Jocelyn will be *sniff* leaving me this fall to go to Bridgewater College and from there will be living out her dream by transferring to New York University Hollllaaaaaa! in a few years.
I love you Jocelyn, we all do, and I can't wait to see the amazing things that you have left to accomplish.

Easter Seals Walk
03.31.09
|

| I wanted to post this not only to try to help raise money for a needy cause, but to also raise awareness. Many of us (including myself) take many simple things for granted and I was given the opportunity to help make a difference and you all have the ability to do the same. From planting a tree, spending a little time at a hospital or donating to scientific research we can all contribute baby steps to making a big difference in the lives of people who deserve it. My eyes were opened a few years ago when I was given the opportunity to visit The Boston Children's Hospital. It was for my final project in school and we needed to pick from a list of topics what our project was going to reflect. I chose Hope. I didn't know where to start so that night I Googled Hope Boston, Ma for some inspiration. What came across my computer screen was beautiful, sad and hopeful. The message to the world was that Boston Children's Hospital never stopped hoping, caring and working to help children and their families fight whatever fight they had to face. With a few phone calls I ended up in 6 East, the Cancer center at The Hospital. What I learned, saw and felt I will never forget and it helped open my eyes to what a little help, hope and love can do. |

On May 19th I will be walking to support Easter Seals. Easter Seals is an organization that provides services to more than one million children and adults with disabilities as well as support to their families.
Easter Seals Walk With Me is all about putting hope within reach for people with disabilities. It's a chance for me, you and many others who want to experience the joy of helping by participating in a fun and uplifting event. The distance we walk is not as important as the reason we are walking, and how much we'll make a difference. Please help support my cause by donating or walking yourself. Every speck counts.
Much Love,
K!

Flight 143 6:30 am CANCELLED
"I have some really bad news guys..." My Dad walked into the living room. It was about 6:00 Sunday night.
"Let's get on a bus!"
"Let's get on a train!"
"Let's just start driving!"
Our flight to Florida had been *gasp* cancelled on account of the wonderful winter storm that decided to blow in on the first day of Spring Break. Now this wouldn't have been such a big deal, jump on the next flight out, no biggie. The problem was... we had a boat to catch. Actually it was a giant boat... a cruise to the Bahamas. Our Christmas present, from our Dad aaand it would be taking place during his birthday.
With a few scrambled phone calls... Dad pulled through (Don't they always?) to get us on another flight.
Flight 268 8:15 am CANCELLED
Ha! With a few more internet clicks we were golden. There is no curve ball that any force could throw his way that he couldn't melt like a snowflake.
Well we piled into the car and drove to Boston. Staying overnight at a hotel and driving to the airport the next morning we held our breath and constantly checked the Blackberry.
Thankfully our final flight stayed caput and we made it to Florida in time to board our Royal Caribbean Cruise. |

| I know you would expect to see more photos up here (ya know, photographer and all) But really, after the extravaganza we went through, I managed to leave my battery charger plugged into the wall, camera battery and all. |

Happy Birthday Dad!! Thank you for your over the top love, never ending support and for being the best Dad ever Seriously
You've encouraged me to pursuit my dreams and have helped make them come true and I won't ever be able to thank you enough. Jocelyn and I love love love you so so much.
